Food -
You will need to replenish thousands of calories, so make sure to bring food your body is used to. Start eating these foods several weeks before the hike to help your body adjust. Examples of good food to bring:
• Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
• Beef jerky
• Trail mix
• Energy bars/protein bars
• High-energy granola bars
Avoid foods that are high in sugar

Recommend long sleeve shirt with UPF rating. Click Here for an example. A shirt with a hood will help keep the sun off your neck and ears.
Loose fitting and comfortable shorts.
Trail/running shoes (you don’t need a big hiking boot – the trail is well maintained and easy to navigate)- good fitting and broken in. You should be wearing them now!
Buff - this will help you stay cool. Very important.

It will be slightly cold when we start, but most of the hike will be very warm. Everything that is packed in must be packed out, so don’t bring excess clothing.
